QUALIFYING AND SEEDING FOR 2018
Seeding levels to enter the Australian Professional Photography Awards (APPA) have changed for 2018 and all Accredited Members, and only Accredited Members, who have achieved at least one merit point (Silver or higher) in the last five (5) years, are seeded to enter APPA.
If you are not seeded, in order to enter APPA you will need to first enter your local State Epson Awards and “qualify” for entry into APPA.
To qualify, all potential entrants (Accredited, Emerging and Students) need to have two or more of your images achieve scores of 80 or higher in the state awards. All qualifying entrants will be formally notified by email after each state awards.
To encourage our established awards entrants to enter their local state awards, all members who currently hold an APPA Achievement of Associate, Master of Photography, Grand Master of Photography will be rewarded with a 25% discount off their state awards entry fee.
If you are not seeded and have qualified through your local state awards, all qualifiers will receive a 25% discount on your APPA 2018 entry.
WILDCARD ENTRIES INTO THE 2018 APPA
If you are not seeded, but believe you should be treated as though you were, tell us why and our Awards Team will consider your circumstances with the possibility of offering you a wildcard direct entry into APPA.
THE TYPE OF CIRCUMSTANCES WHICH MAY GIVE RISE TO A WILDCARD ENTRY ARE:
- Illness – Preventing you entering your state awards
- Financial Hardship – If your business is suffering financial hardship, you can discreetly let us know and apply for a wild card entry into APPA.
Please submit your wildcard request to email@example.com. All wildcard requests must be submitted in writing by the Thursday 26th July. No requests will be accepted after this date.
WHO CAN ENTER
The awards are open to all state based Professional, Emerging, Student photographers. Entrants can only enter one state awards per year and this must be the entrants state of residence or AIPP Chapter
